These Are Four of the Best Places to Eat in Sonoma County
The Michelin Guide is the definitive guide when it comes to restaurants. Chefs strive for years to get a single star, which results in incredible food and an unmatched dining experience. Michelin Stars are rare, but California’s Wine Country has quite a few, and Sonoma County is no exception. Here are the 4 best Michelin-starred restaurants in
Single Thread
The brain-child of chef Kyle Connaughton and Katina Connaughton, Single Thread is a stunning, three Michelin Star, Japan-meets-California experience. The idea for the restaurant came while the duo lived in Japan. Kyle worked with French chef Michel Bras at Toya Japon in Hokkaido, while Katina learned sustainable farming practices while working on a strawberry farm.
Opened in 2016 to much fanfare, Single Thread does not disappoint. An incredible menu carefully calibrated to each season and a top-notch wine program make this restaurant a can’t-miss dining experience.
Farmhouse Inn and Restaurant
Featuring ingredients from fifth-generation Sonoma farmers, the Farmhouse Inn and Restaurant is a world-class destination. Executive chef Steve Litke’s menu is both delicate and daring, focusing on the seasonal nature of the ingredients. The restaurant’s rustic feel and crackling fireplace add to its soothing ambiance.
Madrona Manor
Madrona Manor is an experience. This grand estate and restaurant has a flair for the theatrical. A rustic Victorian setting serves as the backdrop for chef Jesse Mallgren’s innovative menu. Both the tasting and à la carte menus take inspiration from the region and its changing seasons. Guests can walk the gardens where much of the restaurant's produce comes from, and its wine program is also outstanding.
Harbor House
Built in 1916, this historic inn is nestled on the Pacific Coast in Sonoma County. Designed by architect Louis Christian Mullgardt and remodeled by Roff Barnett, this spectacular setting is home to a fantastic Michelin-starred restaurant. Chef Matthew Kammerer’s menu relies on local ingredients and is an experience you don’t want to miss. Local wood is employed in smoking and grilling the menu’s meat, and the fish is caught right off the coast.
